I am new. What is the pee wee 6 and under race like? Do kids need a chase rider or is the whole course visible. Length of race etc?

The Pee Wee race takes place around the pit area. Kids do not need a chase rider. We will have volunteers all over the course and at least 1 medic available. The race is about a 1.5 mile loop and 45 minutes long. It always lots of fun so come on out and give it try.

Same question for an older novice rider. My son is 10, on a 65cc bike...what is the course like for that? I believe he would be in the 1.5 hour race, and if so, is there a chance for fueling during the race (not sure his KTM 65 can make it 1.5 hours all-out on one tank).

Also, is there a driving map to the start location?

Thank you for any information that can be shared.

Saturday minis will be racing an 8 mile loop that starts and finishes in the pit area so re-fueling is not a problem. Racer's will run for1.5 hours. The start is at the pit area, follow the directions on the flyer. It is a fun loop, 65cc and novice friendly. We will have sweeps and med-sweeps looping with the racers to help out and keep things safe. Hope to see you and your son out there!

65 Novice will race with Pee Wee 7-9 age group. So it would be the 45 min race, Event 1 at 10am.

Here is my shot at a map from the exit. Keep in mind I'm assuming the pits are in the same place as the last several years.
The blue is a paved frontage road. It hooks left and turns to dirt at the green. The red is a turn off that takes you over a hill and down to the pits. There will be ribbon attached to sage brush, and there will probably be arrows at the major turns. I get about 10.5 miles of dirt. The road is very nice.
I remember my first year was always an adventure getting to the races. Hope this helps.

Newbie question...For the Alternate Gas stops, is there a single location for both loops or does each loop have it's own Alternate Gas stop? I am running a standard MX tank on a YZ 250 two stroke and am thinking I will need the additional gas stop.

Thanks!

Each loop has alternate gas stops so you will need 2 gas cans if you plan on doing both loops.

Can someone clarify tonight when my Son would be racing. He is 10 years old, novice (never raced) on a 65cc bike. Is it now changed to 10am or still at the 11am start from the flier?

Thank you.

Robysc, 65cc Novice use the pee-wee course, that race is 10am and flyer indicates 1.5 mile lap for 45 minutes.  You won't need to refuel a 65.

Thank you for the clarification. It is not very clear because the rules define his class as "mini-mini" and the flier indicates that "mini"s start at 11 and do the 8 mile course.

Learning all this stuff for the first time.

Thank you.
